13 Days of Faith Itinerary:
Day 1: Monday, January 26
Departure to Egypt on a transatlantic flight. Dinner, breakfast, and in-flight movies.
Day 2: Tuesday, January 27 | Cairo
- Breakfast
- Arrival in Cairo.
- Airport assistance and transfer to the hotel.
- Rest of the day at leisure.
- Dinner at the hotel.
Day 3: Wednesday, January 28 | Cairo
- Breakfast
- Visit the Giza Plateau to see the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx.
- Head to the Egyptian Museum, where the treasures of King Tutankhamun are displayed.
- If time allows, we’ll visit the Hanging Church.
- Dinner and overnight in Cairo.
Day 4: Thursday, January 29 | Mount Sinai
- Breakfast
- We will cross the Suez Canal and enter the Sinai Desert.
- Pass Elim, the first stop for the people of Israel after fleeing Egypt.
- Arrive at Mount Sinai in the early afternoon.
- Dinner.
- Early bedtime, as the mountain climb begins at dawn (or you may watch the climbers from the hotel).
Day 5: Friday, January 30 | Mount Sinai → Red Sea → Isreal
- Reach the summit just in time to witness one of the most breathtaking sunrises in the world. Here, Moses received the Torah and the Ten Commandments (Exodus 3:10).
- Descend from the summit.
- Breakfast
- Visit the ancient monastery near the burning bush, where Moses met his future wife Zipporah.
- Head to the Red Sea and cross the border into Israel.
- Arrival in Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Saturday, January 31 | Jerusalem
- Breakfast
- Visit the Mount of Olives (Ez 11:23) and the Chapel of the Ascension.
- Follow the path Jesus took on Palm Sunday to the Garden of Gethsemane (Mt 26:30-56)
- Visit the Church of All Nations.
- Drive through the Kidron Valley
- See Absalom’s Pillar and the Tomb of Zechariah.
- Visit Mount Zion, the Upper Room where the Last Supper took place (Mt 26:26-35), and nearby, the Tomb of King David.
- Outside Damascus Gate, stop at the Garden Tomb.
- Continue to the Western Wall and walk along the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, where Jesus rose again.
- Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 7: Sunday, February 1 | Jerusalem → Bethlehem
- Breakfast
- Visit the Israel Museum to see the original Dead Sea Scrolls and the model of Jerusalem in the time of Jesus.
- Tour the Holocaust Museum.
- Head to Bethlehem to visit the Church of the Nativity and the Milk Grotto.
- Dinner at the hotel.
Day 8: Monday, February 2 | Qumran → Dead Sea → Masada
- Breakfast
- Cross the Judean Desert to Masada, the fortress-palace built by King Herod. In 73 A.D., 960 Jewish zealots committed suicide here rather than surrender to the Romans.
- Take cable car to the top to enjoy a stunning panoramic view.
- Visit Qumran, where the oldest biblical scrolls were discovered.
- Relax at the Dead Sea—the lowest point on Earth and rich in minerals—where you’ll have time to float and refresh yourself.
- Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.
Day 9: Tuesday, February 3 | Cana → Nazareth → Megiddo → Haifa
- Breakfast
- Depart for the Bahá’í Gardens in Haifa with a stunning view of the bay.
- Visit the Carmelite Monastery.
- Continue to Nazareth, where Jesus grew up (Luke 1:26–38).
- Visit the Church of the Annunciation.
- Head to Cana, where Jesus performed His first miracle (John 2:1–11).
- Dinner and overnight near the Sea of Galilee.
Day 10: Wednesday, February 4 | Capernaum → Tabgha → Mount of Beatitude → Magdala → Jordan River
- Breakfast
- Cross the Sea of Galilee by boat to Capernaum (Mt 4:13) to visit the ruins of Peter’s house.
- Visit Tabgha, where Jesus performed the miracle of the multiplication of loaves and fish (Mk 6:30–46).
- Visit the Mount of Beatitudes (Mt 5:1–12).
- Visit Magdala, the hometown of Mary Magdalene.
- Visit the baptismal site at the Jordan River, where those who wish can renew their baptismal vows.
- Dinner and overnight in Galilee.
Day 11: Thursday, February 5 | Jerash → Mount Nebo → Amman
- Breakfast
- Cross into Jordan—another land of the Bible—and visit Jerash, the best-preserved Roman city in the Middle East.
- Continue to Mount Nebo, where Moses saw the Promised Land before dying (Deuteronomy 34:1).
- Dinner and overnight in Amman, Jordan’s capital.
Day 12: Friday, February 6 | Petra
- Breakfast
- Explore the magnificent Nabatean city of Petra—one of the most awe-inspiring sights in the world.
- Walk through a narrow gorge to reach the temple carved into the rock known as the Treasury. Petra, founded in the 4th century B.C., was a refuge for caravans traveling between Egypt and Syria.
- Return to Amman for dinner and prepare for our return flight home.
Day 13: Saturday, February 7 | Return Home
